Supporting the marginalized communities through projects that generate income is the intervention strategy that this programme has adopted. This programme has been quite instrumental in the implementation of the 2014-2018 Caritas Nairobi Strategic Plan specifically GOAL 1 “To enhance the self- reliance of 10,000 targeted households within the ADN”
Projects under this programme are specifically designed for farmers to manage so that when Caritas hands over the project to famers after the implementation process is complete, they will be able carry on with it. Before rolling out projects, the programme conducts baseline studies, which provide contextual information about a community. These studies serve as guides on the kind of project to be launched since social economic factors are also examined and ways to harness these for income generation are explored
Ongoing projects under this programme include Agro-Forestry, Limuru demonstration farm, CAFASO Boys Project in Kamiti Prison, Dairy Goat Keeping and the Munyu Demonstration Centre for rabbits.
